Last month it was announced Ernie Hudson would join the series as the father of Union’s character Special Agent Sydney Burnett, and now Duane Martin has been added to the Gabrielle Union-led Bad Boys spin-off coming to NBC.

As previously reported, the NBC-led series will follow Special Agent Burnett who was “last seen in Miami taking down a drug cartel, now is an LAPD detective and can pursue all the pleasures Los Angeles has to offer and leave her past behind. But things will get complicated when her new partner, Nancy McKenna, learns that Syd’s unapologetic lifestyle might be masking a greater personal secret.”

Martin plays the smart and competitive LAPD homicide detective Ben Baines opposite Zach Gilford, who has been cast as Ben Walker, a cop who comes from money. Collectively they are known as “The Bens”.

This marks the return of Martin and Union on screen. The two previously starred in the romantic comedy Deliver Us From Eva in 2003 alongside LL Cool J, Meagan Good, Essence Atkins and Robinee Lee.
