UPDATE: After competitive negotiations with several top TV networks, the Bad Boys spinoff TV series starring Gabrielle Union officially finds a home with NBC! NBC has signed up for a pilot production commitment.

Our girl Gabrielle Union-Wade is on FIRE ?! First, she releases her book We’re Going to Need More Wine becoming a New York Times bestselling author. And now, she’s reportedly going to star in a brand new TV show, based on the Bad Boys movie franchise.

The 44-year-old actress would be reprising her role as Special Agent Sydney ‘Syd’ Burnett, an undercover operative with the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA). As the true Bad Boys fans will remember, Syd is the sister of Martin Lawrence’s detective character Marcus. And as for Marcus’s partner, Mike Lowry (played by Will Smith), she fell into his arms on quite a few occasions as she played his love interest and royally pissed off her brother.

Bad Boys II hit the box office 14 years ago. Damn, it’s been that long?! But, the yet-to-be-named project is reportedly being pitched to TV networks and generating a lot of interest. The Bad Boys producers Jerry Bruckheimer and Doug Belgrad are still pushing to get picked up by a network.

We’re keeping our fingers crossed for this show and appearances by Will Smith and Martin Lawrence!

TELL US: Would you watch ‘Bad Boys’ the TV series if it got picked up?
