Last year Kerry Washington announced plans to bring a church comedy to ABC, as part of her production deal with the network. The show reportedly revolves around Omari & Hope who together run a modern ministry and share an even more eclectic and chaotic home life with a combined four children, inspired by Sarah Jakes-Roberts and her husband Pastor Touré Roberts.
Hamilton Tony winner Leslie Odom Jr. has already been cast as Pastor Touré.
And now the show has it’s First Lady. Meet Kelly Jenrette. Mostly known for her role in Handmaids Tale and Grandfathered, the Emmy nominated actress is from Atlanta and married to fellow actor Melvin Jackson Jr.
Not hip to the Roberts? Sarah, most known as the daughter of Bishop T.D. Jakes, has followed her famous father’s footsteps in ministry, serving as the First Lady of both One Church LA and One Church Denver, alongside her husband. The Roberts are also widely known online for their relatable messages of faith, their blended family and of course their incredible fashion sense.
