The untitled sequel of Coming To America is coming quicker than we think! Reports have confirmed the highly anticipated follow up will hit theaters Aug. 7, 2020.
And fans can rest easy, as reported last month, the film will include Eddie Murphy! So far on board for the sequel is director Jonathan Levine (Warm Bodies) and writer Kenya Barris (Black-ish).

So what can we expect? Reportedly, the plot of the sequel involves Akeem learning he has a long-lost son in America. He must go back to America to find his son and take him back home to become the next heir to the throne. Sounds promising.
Murphy, who just had his 10th child, spent last year hard at work on the Dolemite Is My Name biopic, where he’ll star as Rudy Ray Moore (remember his incredible episode of Unsung Hollywood?) alongside Ron Chephas Jones, Mike Epps, Chris Rock, Wesley Snipes, Tituss Burgess and Craig Robinson.
