It looks like Marlon Wayans and Essence Atkins might be looking for a new gig. After two seasons, NBC has canceled Marlon – loosely based off the youngest Wayans’ life.
Atkins took to Instagram to express how grateful she was to be a part of a show that told important stories: “This show gave me new friends who became family helped me heal after my own divorce and allowed me to thrive doing what I love to do. Thank you @marlonwayans for assembling such a fantastic group of people who not only are talented but also extraordinarily dope and kind!”
The series had a solid first season with 5.6 million total viewers, but after returning this past summer, the show dipped to only 3 million total viewers.
The comedy which will air its final episode on Dec. 28, is being shopped to other outlets, so there’s hope it might make a comeback. Right now, Hulu currently has streaming rights to the series which also stars Bresha Webb, Diallo Riddle, Notlim Taylor, and Amir O’Neil.

Earlier this year, the “White Chicks” star released his own Netflix comedy special, “Woke-ish” and suggested a possible The Wayans Bros. reboot. Shortly after the news broke about the cancellation, Wayans teased on Twitter that he might have some things up his sleeve.
Maybe the reboot and the comeback of Marlon could be happening in the near future. Could you handle so much Marlon Wayans?
