 BARBECUE SHRIMP AND SMOKED GOUDA CHEESE GRITS

Ingredients

4 vegetable stock

salt and pepper

1 cup stone-ground grits.

3 tablespoons butter.

1 cup shredded Gouda cheese.

1-pound Large shrimp, peeled and deveined.

1 teaspoon of brown sugar

¼ cup of Diced Bell Peppers

¼ cup of Diced Vidalia onion

¼ Cup of Chef Jernard’s Haute Cuisine BBQ Sauce

1 teaspoon of Lemon Juice

1 spring of Parsley for Garnish

 

Directions

Bring vegetable stock to a boil. Add salt and pepper. Add grits and cook until water is absorbed, about 15 to 20 minutes. Remove from heat and stir in butter and cheese.

Rinse shrimp and pat dry. Melt butter in skillet, add lemon juice, brown sugar, onions, and Bell peppers. Sauté for 2 minutes then add shrimp sauté until pink add chef Jernard’s barbecue sauce mix together and set aside.

Spoon grits into a serving bowl. Add BBQ shrimp mixture over top garnish with extra cheese and parsley. Serve immediately.
