Pastor Jamal Bryant, doesn’t come without his share of controversy, (he famously had an affair while married to Housewives of Potomac star, Gizelle Bryant and dated singer Tweet up until a few months ago). The 47-year-old is currently the Pastor of New Empowerment Temple in Baltimore, Maryland, which he founded in 2000 from a reported 47 members to now 10,000.

According to the Atlanta Journal-Constitution, “One hundred thirty-eight candidates were considered for the high-profile position.”
Long fell from grace in 2010 when he was named in a lawsuit from former members Anthony Flagg, Spencer LeGrande, Jamal Parris and Maurice Robinson. You may recall LeGrande and Parris broke their silence, claiming they were sexually abused by the Bishop. All four men say the sexual advances started when they were 17, according to The Root. A few days after his death the men revealed they were releasing a tell-all.
Yikes!
Dr. Bryant will take on his new leadership role at New Birth Sunday, December 9.
