Fans of the hit 70s group Sister Sledge rejoice! Variety has confirmed a biopic chronicling the lives of the legendary sisters Joni, Debbie, Kim and Kathy titled Life Song! In a statement Kim said, “Music will be a great part of it, because that’s what our lives have been about. During some of the most politically transitional moments in history, we were there.”

The sisters were a family group from Philadelphia who formed in 1971 but burst onto the national scene with their 1979 hit We Are Family — a family reunion staple produced by Unsung alum Nile Rodgers.
While they still perform together, tragedy struck the family last year when Joni was found dead in her Arizona apartment. She was 60.
