In March JAY-Z announced a $3M investment in the criminal reform startup Promise. Earlier that month Diddy revealed he and his namesake were partnering on an app that would promote black business in any given city.
Now, on the heels of his surprise joint album Everything Is Love, with wife Beyoncé, Mr. Carter has joined Will Smith and Golden State Warriors two-time MVP Kevin Durant in a new business deal that aims to help Americans secure life insurance. Black Enterprise reports, “Ethos has made the process much more seamless. It solves a lot of the pain points that consumers have had in the past. People can apply and qualify for a policy after a 10-minute application versus the 10 weeks it takes through a more traditional process. Additionally, the platform provides a non-commissioned licensed agent available to give unbiased guidance and unlike other life insurance plans, more than 99% of Ethos customers have required no medical exam or blood test to get a policy.”
From fashion and music to his Kalief Browder and forthcoming Trayvon Martin documentaries, the Brooklyn MC proves that you can do multiple things well. Check out the visuals for he and Bey’s new single, Apes**t.
