Sandra Denton is embracing life over 50 in the greatest way ever! Vacations in Maui, season four of Growing Up Hip Hop (she stars in the show with her 19-year-old daughter Egypt Criss), the ability to still tour after 30 years in the business and — a new body?

Pepa, whose known as 1/2 of the legendary duo Salt-N-Pepa, showed off her new curves on Instagram over Easter weekend.

There’s no word on what made the iconic rapper opt for a curvier bottom half, but she nor her daughter Egypt, seem to be letting the criticism bother them.

Earlier this week Tyra Banks admitted to getting a nose job to further her modeling career and we all know K. Michelle‘s very public admission of her surgically enhanced derriere and the removal process, which she shared on Dr. Oz in February. And then there was Gladys Knight‘s rumored face lift that same month.

What we don’t know is why black women alter their bodies, and while there is certainly no judgment, the question has yet to be answered. And probably never will.
