You won’t see Monica and her family (husband Shannon Brown and three kids, Rocko, Romelo and Laiyah) on any reality television show anytime soon.

In an interview with People this week, the 37-year-old declined an opportunity from Andy Cohen to join the Real Housewives of Atlanta.

“I would only be on a show where I could see everything before it airs and be a full participant in what it means.  And my goal, if I ever were to do a television show, would be to help girls like myself or people from the communities that are similar to the world that I’m from.”

She goes on to say, “I would only join a show that I could be executive producer of because what my children see me do is important to me.”

And we can’t be mad at that.

The Grammy award winner has done reality television in the past. Remember Still Standing on BET in 2009? Monica hits the road with Xscape and a newly divorced Tamar Braxton next month on The Great Xscape Tour.
