This past Friday word got out that Carrie Fisher, best known as Princess Leia from the “Star Wars” movies, had suffered a major heart attack but her condition was quickly upgraded to stable.

Sadly, Fisher did not recover and now TMZ is reporting that the actress has indeed died.

Fisher, 60, an actress and an author, had recently released “The Princess Diarist,” her memoirs of life on the “Star Wars” set that included an affair with married co-star Harrison Ford.

Last year, Fisher returned to the role that made her famous in “Star Wars: The Force Awakens” and was seen — thanks to high-tech CGI — in this season’s blockbuster “Star Wars: Rogue One.”
