Ne-Yo is making sweet music again with his wife, Crystal Smith. The couple announced that they are expecting a baby.
The singer made the announcement on Sunday (Feb. 21) in an Instagram video with his wife and her growing baby bump. “Overjoyed to announce the family is expanding,” Ne-Yo captioned. “You ready, baby? Let’s go!”
The video showed the couple intimately embracing as he rubbed her belly.

“This is why I love you,” Crystal posted on her Instagram page.
The couple appears to be back in marital bliss and with a baby on the way after indicating that they were separating just a year ago. While appearing on The Talk, Ne-Yo explained that the couple reconciled while quarantining together during the COVID-19 pandemic.
The day before sharing the baby news, the couple celebrated their anniversary. “Today marks six years of marriage,” Ne-Yo said. “It has been a bumpy beautiful, tragically terrific ride full of twists n’ turns, up’s n’ down’s…and I wouldn’t have it any other way. We’ve grown so much. With the understanding that we’ve still got some growing to do, of course, I have to acknowledge how far we’ve come. I think once we both realized that marriage isn’t ownership…but a partnership, we found our tempo, our melody. And now we’ve become a beautiful harmony. I pray we sing this song forever.”

On other exciting fronts, the couple also anticipates the release of new music. The singer plans to drop a deluxe digital version of In My Own Words in honor of the album’s 15th anniversary. The album will contain six bonus tracks and include a documentary that will chronicle the singer’s life over the past 15 years of the album’s initial release. The documentary will touch on topics about his relationship with his wife, performing at George Floyd’s funeral, and the art of making music.

The baby on the way will make their third child together. They currently share two sons, Roman Alexander-Raj (2) and Shaffer Chimere, Jr. (5). Ne-Yo is also dad to a son Mason Evan (9), and a daughter Madilyn Grace (10), from a previous relationship.

It looks like this will be the last baby for Ne-Yo and Crystal. In his baby announcement, the singer also added the hashtags, “#Number5 #5thandFinal.”
