Last year, Netflix ordered The Upshaws to series, starring Mike Epps and Wanda Sykes and now Kim Fields has joined the cast! The streaming giant announced the news Wednesday, revealing Fields’ role as Epps’ character Bernie’s, high school sweetheart.

According to Deadline“the Upshaws centers on a working-class African American family in Indiana struggling to make it work and make it right without any blueprints.”

Sykes and Epps are no strangers to the Netflix family, as they each have a few comedy specials under their belt. Fields, most known for her role as Regine Hunter on Living Single and Tootie from The Facts of Life has continued her work on the small screen over the last few years. We sat down with her and TC Carson, John Henton and Kim Coles in 2018 to reflect on the impact of Living Single’s legacy and to honor the cast on their 25th anniversary. Watch below.
