'Good Times' Is Returning To Television For A Live Holiday Episode

Earlier this year ABC brought us a live remake of All In The Family and The Jeffersons, now the network along with Jimmy Kimmel and Norman Lear is bringing back another classic for a special holiday episode. Good Times is the second go at the Live in Front of a Studio Audience series that will get the remake treatment and Kerry Washington is on board to executive produce the iconic show.

“The holiday season is the perfect time for families to come together and enjoy another Live in Front of a Studio Audience special on ABC. Only Jimmy and Norman can top what they accomplished the first time. From the superstar talent to the unforgettable music and the richly deserved Emmy win, their collective vision has introduced a whole new generation of people to these groundbreaking and timeless stories–and now with Good Times as part of the lineup, this will surely be another can’t-miss television event,” said Karey Burke, president of ABC Entertainment.

And while casting has yet to be announced, if The Jeffersons live event was any indication — we’re sure it’ll be spot on. Take a look back at Jennifer Hudson singing the iconic theme song, Jamie Foxx as George Jefferson and a special appearance by Marla Gibbs.

So, so good.
