Can you say big shoes to fill? Viola Davis is slated to portray our Forever First Lady Michelle Obama in First Ladies, a new series coming to Showtime.

According to Variety, “The series will peel back the curtain on the personal and political lives of First Ladies from throughout history, with season one focusing on Eleanor Roosevelt, Betty Ford and Michelle Obama. “First Ladies” will turn its lens on the East Wing of the White House, as opposed to the West, where many of history’s most impactful and world-changing decisions have been hidden from view, made by America’s charismatic, complex and dynamic First Ladies.” This will also mark the first time Mrs. Obama will be portrayed on the small screen.

There’s no word on when production will start on the project for the Emmy award-winner. This summer she ended her six season run on Shonda RhimesHow To Get Away With Murder. Davis’ next role will be opposite her on-screen girlfriend Taylour Paige in Netflix’s Ma Rainey’s Black Bottom.
