Lena Waithe is bringing an instruction manual of sorts to the small screen, for hew new Showtime project, How To Make Love To A Black Woman. Reportedly, the “half-hour comedy anthology series will feature themes of connection and rejection. With each multi-part episode…a new collection of characters in an authentic world, telling stories about connection and rejection that explore our most harrowing – and harrowingly comic – sexual secrets.”

Well, OKAY. Sounds like Zane 2.0 (am I telling my age?).

The Chi creator and executive producer is no secret to telling our stories impeccably. Her most recent project, Queen & Slim is already drawing buzz from fans online. “The story follows a black man (Daniel Kaluuya) and woman (Jodie Turner-Smith) and woman on their first date. They are pulled over for a minor traffic infraction. The situation escalates, with sudden and tragic results, when the man kills the police officer in self-defense. Terrified and in fear for their lives, the man, a retail employee, and the woman, a criminal defense lawyer, are forced to go on the run. But the incident is captured on video and goes viral, and the couple unwittingly becomes a symbol of trauma, terror, grief and pain for people across the country.”

Queen & Slim hits theaters November 27, 2019. Want more Lena? If you missed her episode of The DL Hughley Show last month, watch below.
