…And we couldn’t be happier! Mo’Nique will join an elite group of comedians starting January 11, 2019, with her very own residency in Las Vegas at the SLS Hotel! The 52-year-old comedian announced the big news in an Instagram post last month. Watch below!

To say it’s been a hell of a year for Mo is an understatement. The Oscar award winner let loose against Netflix at the top of the year, asking for a boycott after the streaming platform allegedly lowballed her with a $500,00 offer for a comedy special. She accused the media giant of gender and color bias, a fact fellow comedian Wanda Sykes also admitted to.

The topic of Mo’s ask for a boycott was everywhere. Wendy Williams and Jada Pinkett Smith stood in support of her call for equal pay. Mo’Nique even released emails to prove she wasn’t offered more, despite several outlets saying she was. And then there was the infamous Breakfast Club interview and soon after with Whoopi Goldberg on The View.

But despite the backlash and uproar (including releasing who allegedly lied about the real reason Isaiah Washington was fired from Grey’s Anatomy), Mo continued to stay positive, even supporting Tiffany Haddish‘s deal with Netflix and hilariously responding to Lee Daniels after he told her to “shut up” after showing her a little shade during an interview.

We’re just excited Mo continues to win!
