Ava Duvernay continues to kill the game! The Emmy award-winning director just signed a multi-year and multi-genre deal with Warner Bros. Television. The $100 million production and development deal is set to start in January, and it’s Duvernay’s first deal with any studio. Can you believe that?

The deal gives the screenwriter and her production company, Forward Movement the freedom to create drama and comedy series, documentaries, digital content, event projects, and long-form projects for distribution over broadcast, cable, premium cable, streaming services and other platforms, according to Deadline. She’s definitely taking over.

The Queen Sugar executive producer shared her excitement about the deal, saying: “I’ve had nothing but beautiful experiences working with Peter Roth, Susan Rovner and Brett Paul. They love and support artists in wonderful and nourishing ways. They work within a traditional studio headed by Kevin Tsujihara that is stirring with untraditional energy and fresh protocols for intentional, inclusive image-making. Warner Bros is a terrific partner about matters of visibility and belonging for all kinds and cultures of people, which is our mission at Forward Movement. I couldn’t be happier to call Warner Bros TV my production home.”

Duvernay’s Queen Sugar and upcoming series, The Red Line are already produced by Warner Brothers, so this partnership is going to be an amazing one.

Not only is Ava taking over TV, but also movies with the production powerhouse. She is currently directing a movie, “The New Gods” with Warner Brothers and DC Comics, which is inspired by a comic series from the 1970s.

The trailer for the director’s newest venture debuted today. “Roll With Me” is about a 42-year-old recovering addict and paraplegic’s journey of traveling across America solely on his unmotorized wheelchair. The film is set to debut on Netflix on Dec. 1.

Congratulations are in order for this superstar! Ava, keep doing your thing.
