Over the weekend rumors started flying of an alleged fight between Mary J. Blige and Faith Evans at Diddy‘s party in the Hamptons. While we’re not sure where the ridiculous lie started, of course, Black Twitter had the best reactions to the rumored throwdown.

Despite the online rumblings, while at New York Fashion Week (she walked in the Dennis Basso show on Monday) the Queen of Hip-Hop Soul denied the fight ever happened. “Of course that was made up. I was shooting a movie in Louisiana . . . I just got here today,” she told Page Six.

Evans, who married Stevie J in July, also denied the rumors, “I have no idea how this rumor started. Puffy didn’t even have a party,” a representative of the singer reportedly said. While signed to Diddy’s label, the singers worked together in the 1990s, recording a duet for Love Don’t Live Here Anymore in 1995. They later had a falling-out but seemingly patched things up a decade later, performing on-stage together at the 2005 BET Awards.

The internet is indeed a special place.
