The Miss Black USA Organization is the first and leading scholarship pageant for women of color awarding over $500,000 in scholarships. It’s mission is to provide a national stage for its participants to showcase their unique talents and beauty and win scholarship opportunities.  Amongst its many accomplishments, it was the first US-based pageant to hold a national pageant on the continent of Africa and has a library named in its honor at the Lower Basic Primary School in The Gambia, West Africa.
