Now that Bill Cosby has been convicted of aggravated indecent assault, the #TimesUp movement has their eyes set on R. Kelly. Last week celebrities like Lupita Nyong’o and Kerry Washington joined the #MuteRKelly campaign, asking authorities to take a closer look into the accusations that have followed the singer for over two decades. Radio veteran Tom Joyner even announced his iconic show would no longer play Kelly’s music after being called out by #MeToo Founder Tarana Burke.
But while Hollywood is after the 51-year-old there’s one person that wants to actually sit down with the Ignition singer — Wendy Williams. The talk show host revealed on her show last week she had a private, no holds barred conversation, apparently discussing everything including the most recent rumors of a “sex cult”.
The singer has maintained his innocence for over 20 years, most recently apologizing to his fans after being dropped from the lineup at Chicago’s UIC Pavillion last weekend. He took to Twitter to apologize to his fans for what he says are “rumors”. He also promises his lawyers will look into the situation.
Straight from the ?’s mouth! I love my fans. I love Chicago. Next show: Greensboro, NC May 11. pic.twitter.com/RcbalV0Idc
