“Rita Louise Watson singing does not put food on the table.”
Sheryl Lee Ralph can’t help but sing a different tune now that it’s been 25 years since Sister Act 2 premiered. Especially since the then-16-year-old Lauryn Hill catapulted into stardom selling over 19 million records worldwide on her debut album, The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill, and winning six Grammys.
The two co-stars caught up at Kaya Fest over the weekend, where the 42-year-old closed out the show.
But it was this backstage moment between the pair in front of the singer’s 19-year-old daughter Selah Marley, that made us remember just how special their on-screen mother-daughter bond was after all these years.
Speaking of The Fugees, Wyclef Jean revealed how he and Lauryn met on an episode of Unsung last season.
Catch Lauryn in your city as she celebrates 20 years of The Miseducation.
