According to PEOPLE, political leaders are not required to make an appearance at Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s wedding. In an effort to keep politics out of the wedding, the couple reached this agreement.

“It has been decided that an official list of political leaders – both U.K. and international – is not required for Prince Harry and Ms. Markle’s wedding. Her Majesty’s Government was consulted on this decision, which was taken by The Royal Household,” Kensington Palace spokesman said in a statement, according to the Guardian.

Although Barack and Michelle Obama reportedly will not be at the ceremony, the outlet also reports that the Prince and Markle plan on visiting them soon. The former POTUS congratulated the pair on their engagement back in November.
