The 2018 Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony is quickly approaching, and the presenters have been announced. Mary J. Blige will present Nina Simone’s posthumous induction and Andra Day will deliver a performance to honor the legendary artist.

“I am such a huge Nina Simone fan, and am beyond thrilled and honored to be a part of her Rock and Roll Hall of Fame induction,” the nine-time-grammy-winner told Rolling Stone. The 47-year-old was reportedly supposed to portray Simone in her 2016 biopic, but was replaced by Zoe Saldana. Now the singer will have another opportunity to honor the legacy of the Feeling Good artist.

LL Cool J was also hoping for a spot on the list of 2018 Hall of Fame inductees, but his campaign was unsuccessful. Although he definitely deserved the honor, he did earn the achievement of becoming the first rapper to be honored by the Kennedy Center Honors.

The Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony will take place on Saturday, April 14. We can’t wait to see Day’s performance! Check out the video below of the Grammy-nominated artist performing Simone’s Mississippi Goddamn at the GRAMMY Salute To Music Legends 2017.
