Kenneth Babyface Edmonds, the man responsible for creating an entire generation of 90s babies, is back to producing and currently developing a series based on the New York City music scene in the ’90s.

The hourlong dramedy will go deep into the lives of songwriter and producer Damon Sharpe and recording artist and producer Stacy Asencio-Sutphen who both met in New York, while struggling to become pop sensations. His name might not sound familiar, but you know his work. He wrote Jennifer Lopez’s smash hit “Love Don’t Cost A Thing” and worked with ’90s and ’00s stars like Mya, Monica and Ginuwine.

While letting us relive everything we loooove about ’90s music, it will also dive into one of the most turbulent times in the music business. Digital disruption hit and changed everything they thought they knew about the business.

Now back to the music….

Even if this series just skims over Babyface’s full catalog, we’ll be in love. This man has 26 number one R&B hits and has produced/written/worked with everybody – Janet Jackson, Michael Jackson, Madonna, Aretha Franklin, Diana Ross, Beyoncé, Toni Braxton, Whitney Houston, Mary J. Blige, Unsung’s After 7 [remember Babyface got them their first deal] the list goes on.
