The “Hidden Figures” aren’t hidden anymore! Following the news of NASA’s first black female engineer Mary W. Jackson having a school renamed in her honor, Barbie will create a doll to honor Katherine Johnson, the 99-year-old mathematician also portrayed in the NAACP Image Award-Winning film.

Johnson along with 16 other inspirational women in history will be honored in the new Barbie line called “Inspiring Women” that pays tribute to historical role models, according to GeekWire.
Mattel stated that Johnson’s Barbie “celebrates the achievements of a pioneer who broke through barriers of race and gender.”
British boxer and two-time Olympic gold medalist, Nicola Adams also makes history, becoming the first woman in the UK to have a “Shero” barbie doll created in her honor. The “Shero” Barbies were created in 2015, but are now releasing a new line.
