Fans of Shaft should be pleasantly surprised that the reboot will see the return of the film’s original cast, including Richard Roundtree and Samuel L. Jackson.

Over the weekend, Director Tim K. Story shared a photo from the set of Son Of Shaft introducing Jessie T. Usher‘s character alongside the OGs.

The first Shaft movie hit theaters in 1971, and starred Richard Roundtree as the private detective who is hired to rescue a Harlem mobster’s kidnapped daughter. Samuel L. Jackson starred as the nephew of the original John Shaft in the 2000 sequel.

The third installment will reportedly appear on Netflix and tells the story of “a young cyber expert FBI agent who, despite being estranged from his father, is forced to work with him on a case. It becomes a collision between old school and new school.”
