Tuesday morning Philadelphia police officers found the body of 15-year-old Sabriya McLean under a pile of leaves. Investigators determined she was last seen alive on Monday night when she met up with 23-year-old Cole Swaringer-Herring after initially meeting him on Facebook, reported WPVI-TV.

Her body was found after she was stabbed approximately 80 times and then set on fire.

Due to the violence of the crime, police suspect she may not be the suspected killer’s first victim. “It was a very violent act, so we’re looking at him in connection to some other possible cases that we’ve had,” Capt. Jack Ryan told the local news station.

Swaringer-Herring’s, who lives with his parents committed the crime while they were not at home. However, when they returned, he confessed what he’d done. The next morning his parent’s phoned the police to report their son’s crime.

She was reported missing from New Castle, Delaware by her family and her body was found in west Philadelphia

Swaringer-Herring is charged with murder, arson, abuse of a corpse and related offenses. He’s being held pending his future preliminary hearing.
