Gwen Ifill‘s incredible legacy will forever be cemented on the campus of Simmons College.

The 61-year-old’s alma mater has announced their College of Media, Arts, and Humanities will be named after the former PBS anchor.

A New York native, Ifill started her career writing for papers like The Washington Post, The Baltimore Evening Sun and the New York Timesbefore being named an anchor for “PBS News Hour.” She also famously moderated the 2008  Vice Presidential Debate between Sarah Palin and Joe Biden, a role Queen Latifah included in a skit on Saturday Night Live the same year.

That’s the way you pay homage Simmons College!
