Gwen Ifill, PBS Anchor, Dies at Age 61

November 14, 2016

Even if you never watch the news, you know Gwen Ifill.

Mostly because you know you watched the 2008 Vice Presidential Debate between Sarah Palin and Joe Biden. And holding court was PBS anchor and experience journalist Gwen Ifill (you may remember Queen Latifah playing her on the infamous “Saturday Night Live version“).

A New York native, Ifill started her career writing for papers like The Washington Post, The Baltimore Evening Sun and the New York Times before being named an anchor for “PBS News Hour.”

While we don’t have details of her death, we are aware that she was battling breast cancer.
