Jordan Peele’s Get Out could pull an upset at next year’s Golden Globes. Why? They’ve decided that if nominated, the film will compete as a comedy.
Now, we can’t speak for anyone except ourselves but we didn’t think the movie was that funny.
The movie was a satirical metaphor for what African Americans experience in this country on a regular basis, and it’s not funny. In fact, the ease with which the evolution of the African diaspora in America was depicted as a “horor” story is frightening in itself.
Writer and director Jordan Peele took to Twitter to clarify with the tweet, “‘Get Out’ is a documentary.”

Ok… so there were funny moments in the movie… And top TSA agent Rod Williams carried us through them all. His smart a$#, dumb a$#, everybody’s best friend character was the hero of the entire film! Literally!
According to shadowandact.com, being in the Comedy category increases the film’s chance of being nominated, and winning. So hey, if we get the win, we can’t be mad. This movie defiantly deserves the recognition.
The official nominations will be announced on Monday, Dec. 11
