According to TMZ actor Kristoff St. John was hospitalized for allegedly trying to shoot himself.

The Young & The Restless star was placed under psychiatric evaluation after allegedly threatening to kill himself with a gun. When cops arrived to his LA home, they confiscated two guns and placed St. John under a 72-hour mental evaluation hold.

There’s no word at what prompted the 51-year-old’s suicide attempt, but the anniversary of his son’s death might have something to do with it (24-year-old Julian St. John committed suicide November 23, 2014).
