It’s been a rough few months for the ‘X Gon’ Give It To Ya’ rapper DMX. Last week, a judge granted leave from house arrest to return to rehab. He reportedly checked himself into a New England rehab facility yesterday, Tuesday, August 29, to get proper care.

“House arrest wasn’t working for me, so I made the decision to do something positive and better for myself,” DMX tells TMZ.

For DMX, house arrest has always been pretty loose. Just a few weeks ago, his lawyer got the house arrest restrictions lifted for him to travel domestically fulfilling any gigs he contracted, including a movie shooting in Atlanta. Apparently, the movie fell through and he decided rehab is the best place for him.

His most recent run-ins with the criminal justice system all began earlier this month, August 17, when he violated his bail conditions. He failed his drug tests and left New York without notifying his probation officer. He’s on bail after pleading not guilty to 14 federal counts of tax evasion. Yikes!

We’re praying for you DMX and we’re still here for that Ruff Ryders Anniversary Tour!
