The Nevada Board of Parole Commissioners confirmed just moments ago, that O.J. Simpson had been granted parole after almost a decade behind bars. His sentence had been scheduled to end Sept. 29, 2022.
In 2007 Simpson was found guilty of 12 charges, including armed robbery, assault with a deadly weapon and kidnapping. This followed a confrontation in a Las Vegas hotel involving reported stolen sports memorabilia.
The 70-year-old was moved to tears as his friend and robbery victim Bruce Fromong spoke on his behalf as a character witness.
The hearing began at 1p EST and unlike many, started with a few jokes and smiles, including this moment when Chairwoman Connie Bisbee mistakenly referred to Simpson as 90-years-old.
We’re just glad to see The Juice get another shot at life. His plans are to live in Florida once’s he released in October.
