Lezley McSpadden, who most of the world know as the mother of Michael Brown, the unarmed teen fatally shot by Ferguson police in 2014, received her high school diploma last week. And what makes the news even sweeter — she graduated alongside her daughter Deja Brown.
According to the St. Louis Post-Dispatch, McSpadden sat down with the the adult high school program to talk about her nonprofit Michael O.D. Brown We Love Our Sons and Daughters Foundation. During the conversation McSpaden mentioned that she was never able to finish school and the rest is graduation history!
