It wouldn’t be show business without a little drama, and just in time for the May 30th premiere of America’s Got Talent. How fitting.

A lawsuit claims that host Tyra Banks caused a contestant “severe emotional distress” after insinuating that she “was accidentally conceived.”

According to Variety, the contestant, identified in the suit only as Jane Doe, performed a song with her husband at the taping on March 19. The song is about her bond with her daughter, who is identified as Mary and who was present at the taping. She says that she and her husband were “humiliated” by the judges and the audience, who criticized the song.

The former supermodel turned reality TV host replaced Nick Cannon in March after NBC executives supposedly threatened to fire the comedian over a joke he made in his recent Showtime special Stand Up, Don’t Shoot.

Despite how his relationship with the network ended,  the 36-year-old put his feelings to the side and sent Tyra a bouquet of flowers to express his good wishes: “Tyra, congratulations and good luck on AGT! Love, Nick C.”

If the accusations are true, Tyra might need to follow Nick’s lead…
