Georgia Southern University was established in 1906. The school is organized into nine academic colleges and schools, which grant undergraduate and graduate degrees in various fields of study. Popular majors include Business, Education, Engineering, and Health Professions. Through its nearly 300 student groups and organizations, GSU hosts numerous activities and programs for students. The Multicultural Center on campus is home to the Minority Advisement Program, which helps freshmen of color make a smooth transition between high school and college.
