Just when you think the public discourse in the U.S. has settled down and stopped careening out of control… well, then President Trump tweets or says something that puts him back on our ish list.

According to TMZ, Trump has made the decision to change Black History Month to National African American History Month. A meeting with African American leaders prompted the change because, according to Trump, most believed the word “black” is outdated.

We CAN-NOT… especially after yesterday’s awkward moment. You heard about it, right? Well, apparently yesterday (Wednesday), President Trump pulled his black aides and supporters together — including Omarosa Manigault and Ben Carson — for a special announcement in honor of Black History Month. Wait, you have to see it to believe it!

SO YEAH, that happened. We’re still a little confused why Omarosa and Ben didn’t give him a Black History Lesson 101 before stepping in front of cameras. But hey, the good thing is that Frederick Douglass is alive and apparently living as a recluse. OK, we’re kidding, but not surprising at all, social media lit up with several responses, including Douglass’ possible presidential bid in 2020.

And we love this one from @jmjafrx.

Oh, but wait there’s more! So a faux Frederick Douglass apparently opened a Twitter account to troll President Trump. The account may have been deleted, but not before US Uncut captured a few hilarious tweets, that right now, are giving us SO much life!

@realFrederickDouglass: @realDonaldTrump, your FAKE NATIONAL SECURITY immigrant BAN goes against everything I stood for (when I was alive 122 yrs ago). A horrible mess!

@realFrederickDouglass: Appreciate @realDonaldTrump congrats on AMAZING job I did to secretly educate myself and other slaves while still living under slavery in Maryland. My work is finally being recognized!

@realFrederickDouglass: I will be asking for an investigation into the MASSIVE VOTER FRAUD that led to black ppl and women not voting for entire first half of U.S. history!

@realFrederickDouglass: My autobiography, Life and Times of Frederick Douglass, is #1 best-seller on Amazon. 4x better sales than Art of the Deal! P.S. I am dead!

Yep, we’re DEAD, too. We’ll add this to our files aptly titled, “Alternative Facts.”

TELL US: What’s your take on this whole Black History Month situation?
