The Associated Press is reporting that the attorneys representing the Minnesota officer that killed Philando Castile (on camera, mind you), are arguing that Castile’s death was his own fault.
Yes, you read right.
Officer Jeronimo Yanez’ attorneys are fighting for charges against him to be dismissed, claiming that Castile was “negligent in his own death because he was high on marijuana while driving and did not obey the officer’s commands.”
Do we smell a reach? Is there not a video?
Not too long ago, prosecutors charged Officer Yanez with manslaughter and other offenses and now his team is looking to exonerate him by proving that Philando Castile was negligent by being under the influence.
We have to see how this will turn out.
