Born June 28, 1971 and raised in Queens, N.Y., Tichina Arnold landed her first acting role in the play, The Me Nobody Knows, at the Billie Holiday Theater in Brooklyn. She also appeared in television movies such as The Brass Ring and PBS’ House of Dries Dear.

At age 16, Arnold landed her first feature film role as Crystal in Little Shop of Horrors alongside her childhood friend Tisha Campbell. Arnold also appeared on All My Children and Ryan’s Hope, for which she received an Emmy nod for her role as Zena. Arnold won an NAACP Image Award for her role as Pam on Martin.

An actress as well as a business woman, Arnold also has her own accessory line, China Moon Rags, and a clothing line, Black Hollywood, that features the likenesses of prominent African-American entertainers.

She has one daughter.
