Born in Baltimore, MD on September 18, 1971,   Pinkett Smith majored in dance at the Baltimore School for Arts alongside classmate Tupac Shakur. Pinkett Smith  spent a year at the school before she went to North Carolina School of Arts, to pursue her acting career. She got her first job in 1991 on the sitcom A Different World. Her first movie debut was two years later in Menace II Society. Fame came calling when she was cast next to Hollywood giant Eddie Murphy in  1996’s The Nutty Professor. Pinkett-Smith has since had numerous roles in movies, sitcoms and dramas, netting  five NAACP image awards. She is now married to Will Smith, and they have a son, Jaden Christopher Syre Smith; and a daughter, Willow Camille Reign Smith, and currently is the star of ER drama series Hawthorne.
