It’s safe to say that we lead the pack when it comes to telling the untold stories of the greatest  Black stars of the past and the present.

Some of us grew up with these artists while others (like millennials, who still have milk on their ?) are experiencing some of these classics for the first time!

We present to you the 90’s ON THE 80’s where millennials review clips and music videos from artists who have been featured on Unsung. Enjoy!

This week: David Ruffin vs Eddie Kendricks

Theme: Who was the better lead singer of the Temptations?

Millennial: Ricardo (27)

1. DAVID RUFFIN (MY GIRL)

R- This song is EPIC. It actually reminds me of the movie, My Girl (part 1 and 2) which I hold very close to my heart (don’t judge). This song makes you think of that special young lady in all of our lives. Also, did anyone else notice the choreography from these guys? I don’t know what it is about the Motown era, but the music makes me feel like I was alive during that time.

2. EDDIE KENDRICKS (JUST MY IMAGINATION)

R- Ladies and gentlemen, this is what you call a falsetto. This is another classic Temptations record! These guys are definitely showing off their harmonizing technique on this one. Is it just me, or does this song actually make you daydream?

TEAM KENDRICKS OR TEAM RUFFIN?: Ahhh this is a tough one! Both of these records are classic but ultimately I’m more of an up-beat person so I’m Team Ruffin on this one! This guy had so much energy and a stage presence full of personality.
