Earlier this summer, Black Twitter lost they damn mind after seeing the Black Panther in “Captain America: Civil War.” And why not? Chadwick Boseman KILLED IT as Africa’s best known superhero. And with Michael B. Jordan, Lupita Nyong’o and Danai Gurira on board for Panther’s solo flick, we cannot wait for it to drop in 2018.
But folks looking for some superpowered #BlackExcellence will only have to wait till September when Netflix premieres “Luke Cage.” Fans already peeped Mike Colter as Cage, a bulletproof brother from Harlem, in the series “Jessica Jones” but now with his own show, we see a whole black hero universe including folks like Alfre Woodard, Mahershala Ali, Simone Missick and Rosario Dawson (not to mention, A Tribe Called Quest’s Ali Shaheed Muhammad and soul singer Adrian Younge doing the music).
The trailer dropped today (on the anniversary of Mike Brown’s death no less) and we would be remiss not to show it — and the best reactions to it — right here.
And now on to the Twitter freak out:
