ICYMI, Blackish paid homage to Good Times during Wednesday’s season finale. Well since we currently air it, we had to get in the mix and figure out whom we’d cast if we had to use characters from TV One and other vintage shows on our network.

Penny – Shante, “Here We Go Again”

Okay, so Shante may not be as innocent as the real Penny (pregnancy scare and all) but she’s still super cute.

Willona — Loretta, “Here We Go Again”

The self-avowed “Glam-ma” would make the perfect apartment pal because she’d always be down for a Shondaland girl’s night in.

Bookman — Overton, “Living Single”

With his cute smile and laid-back charm, Obie could fix our pipes any day.

Michael – Terrence, “A Different World”

Equal parts radical and live (like waaaaaay too live) Terrence would put the hip in a Hip Hop version of Michael…Africa-shaped necklaces and all.

Thelma — Kelly, “Born Again Virgin”

Kelly is smart and sassy and would be the best annoyingly over-achieving sister to have.

Florida — Rochelle Rock “Everybody Hates Chris”

Imagine Rochelle being a no-nonsense mom, raising her family the best way she knows how in the hood. Oh wait…

JJ — Rickey Smiley, “Rickey Smiley For Real”

He already has the hat. IJS.

James — Fred Sanford, “Sanford and Son”

Let’s keep it real; the bills still wouldn’t get paid with Fred at the helm.
