Malik Yoba is an award-winning actor, writer, director, producer and Hollywood veteran of more than 20 years, who is best known for his roles in Cool Runnings, New York Undercover, Tyler Perry’s Why Did I Get Married? and Why Did I Get Married Too?, as well as Girlfriends and Arrested Development. He has appeared in more than 30 films, starred in 13 television shows as a series regular and has acted on stage with The New Group, Atlantic Theater Company and the Delaware Theater Company, among others. Yoba is also an educator, inspirational speaker, entrepreneur and author.

A Bronx, New York native, Yoba was an educator in 13 New York City public high schools and worked with several high-profile youth leadership organizations, domestically and abroad. By the time he was 23, Yoba was the Vice President of The City Kids Foundation. In 2003, he established The Malik Yoba National Theatre Company (The MYNT Company), which creates, acquires, produces and distributes content for the urban theater market. His stage musicals include What’s on The Hearts of Men and Acoustic Chocolate. The MYNT Company is also a proud sponsor of the Hip-Hop Theater Festival.

A three-time NAACP Image Award winner, Yoba is also the creator of the internet series Shop Talk: What’s on the Hearts of Men. He has written, produced and directed digital content for Gillette, AARP and the American Cancer Society, among others. He is co-author of Please Return My Phone Call: Preventing the Demise of Personal and Professional Relationships, a handbook for business and interpersonal relationships.

In 2013, he co-founded iconic32, a lifestyle company and innovation studio which creates and enhances cultural movements for social good. He continues to pursue his many passions, which all lead to initiatives that have a positive social impact, with a focus on technology, film, television, music, fashion, art, culture and real estate.
