April 21, 2016

Yes, we are still in shock but that this hasn’t stopped us from paying tribute to his Purple Majesty. In his honor, here’s what’s blaring in the TV One hallways right now:

“The Most Beautiful Girl In the World”

Jenee’ — “The song always brought a smile to my face because I just knew that Prince was talking to me.”

“When Doves Cry”

Dominic — “It sparked and revolutionized a whole, new generation of music lovers.”

“Adore”

James — “Without a doubt the sexiest song ever laid down. Plus it has a curse word no one ever catches.”

“Purple Rain”

Jessica — “Man, something about his voice and that guitar….you feel every last word. Every sorrow, every pain…every damn purple raindrop.”

Dexter — “Resonated with me immediately while watching it in the movie theater!”

“Let’s Go Crazy”

Eric — “This song had a big impact on me as a kid. It was the first 45 record I ever bought.”

“1999”

Cathy — “I tried to live my life as if everyday was that song.”

“When Doves Cry”

Safidi — “That song just struck an emotional chord with me, even before I knew what it really was.”

“The Beautiful Ones”

Grace — “It’s so relatable. ‘Do you want him/or do you want me/cause I want you!’ Been there, done that.”

“I Would Die 4 U”

Ricardo — “This is my favorite Prince record because it manages to be futuristic and retro at the same time! You can’t help but move when the beat drops in the beginning.”
