The final episode for Everybody Hates Chris premiered 12 years ago and the beloved sitcom is already receiving the reboot treatment.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, CBS Studios is developing an animated series with co-creators Chris Rock and Ali LeRoi.

The comedian is set to narrate the animated series but no information has been released on whether or not the other cast members will reprise their roles as voice actors.

Everybody Hates Chris first premiered on UPN in 2005 but later moved to The CW where the remainder of the series would air. Starring Tyler James Williams, Terry CrewsTichina ArnoldTequan Richmond, Imani Hakim, and Vincent Martella, the NAACP Image Award-winning show follows the 57-year-old’s life as a teenager in Brooklyn as he navigates family, school, and bullies in the 80s.

As reported by TV One, Rock believed that after four seasons of making light of his upbringing and life that he had healed from the events that took place in his childhood. When in reality, “…the pain and the fear that that brought me, I was experiencing it every day.”
