What do Raven-Symoné, Tyler James Williams, and Jaleel White all have in common? They grew up on set filming popular sitcoms such as The Cosby ShowEverybody Hates Chris, and Family Matters, respectively. In White’s new podcast “Ever After,” he’s tackling what it’s like to grow up in the entertainment industry with the help from former child actors.

White, who is famously known for playing the nerdy and accident-prone Steve Urkel from Family Matters, started “Ever After” to give fans inside access to success stories since stereotypes surrounding child stars focus on their lack of longevity in the entertainment industry. The podcast hopes to take the audience “on a nostalgic journey down memory lane to reveal the hidden lives of child entertainers and the adult lives they lead now.”

The California native revealed to Entertainment Weekly that he hopes to show “the truth to what we lived, and [how] no matter how talented you are, you gotta be lucky. You’ve got to have parents that love you. It has to have been your decision to have been in the business, even at a young, young age.”

Although the podcast was originally ideated as a TV show, he had to rethink the concept due to the pandemic. Nonetheless, the 43-year-old believes the conversations are more “fruitful” than what he originally imagined them to be.
