As the world is dealing with the unprecedented pandemic of the Coronoviris, or COVID-19, outbreak, Idris Elba has become one of the latest celebrities to confirm a positive diagnosis. On Monday afternoon, Elba posted a video to his Twitter account, letting fans know about his diagnosis.
This morning I tested positive for Covid 19. I feel ok, I have no symptoms so far but have been isolated since I found out about my possible exposure to the virus. Stay home people and be pragmatic. I will keep you updated on how I’m doing 👊🏾👊🏾 No panic. pic.twitter.com/Lg7HVMZglZ

In the video, the 47-year-old stated he was not showing any symptoms but chose to get the test because he was recently in contact with someone who had previously tested positive for the virus. His wife Sabrina Elba was emotionally sitting at her husband’s side in the recording. They stated that she had not yet been tested.
The “Wire” actor urged the public to take the virus seriously and to practice important hygienic habits and social distancing.
Idris joins the growing list of celebrities testing positive for the virus, including Tom Hanks, his wife, and three NBA players.
We pray for a speedy recovery for Idris Elba, and all other impacted by the coronavirus.
